My name is Robin Wallace, and I am very proud to introduce myself as the new state conservation committee chairperson. This is my first experience serving on the state board, and I am very honored to be joining the amazing group of women at the helm of our wonderful organization. I am also very excited to be taking on an issue as important and timely as conservation, and I hope all of you will help me identify ways the Jersey Juniors can take the lead in helping our communities and our state go green.
I have been involved with the Verona Junior Women's Club, in the Liberty District, for seven years. For many years I co-chaired our International Committee. Last year, I served on our club's executive board for the first time, as first vice president, and as co-chair of our fundraising committee. I also continued to chair our international projects. This year, I am co-chairing our membership committee. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to get to know members of the state board at various events, such as the spring conferences and annual conventions. I am really looking forward to this next chapter in my junior experience.
As for a little bit about me personally: I live in Verona, NJ, in Essex County, with my husband, Mike and two wonderful children, Cailan, 8 and Michael, 4. I am a journalist, currently working as a writer for various news outlets, part-time in the office, part-time from home.
