Hello, my name is Christine Robertson and I am your new Public Affairs Chairman. I have been a member of the North Arlington Junior Woman's Club for 12 years, the last 5 as President. I am also a former Palisades District Advisor. I am looking forward to working with all of you on some very important projects.
The Public Affairs Department consists of 2 programs:
1) The Safety Program addresses safety issues in our communities by:
· -encouraging the use of smoke and carbon dioxide detectors
· -participating in National Nights Out Against Crime or
other Crime Prevention programs
· -hosting Self Defense Programs
· -supporting Fire, Rescue, Police and Ambulance Service
2) The Citizenship Program educates members about the importance of active citizenship by:
· -encouraging members to vote in all elections
· -attend town council meetings
· -write letters regarding local, state and Federal Legislative issues
· -support the families of active duty troops
· -support our vets
· -promote citizenship and volunteering
